Terms & Conditions
Full terms and conditions:
Definitions:
The Client: The recipient of the service and name listed on the booking form.
The Makeup Artist: Rose Deeney.
The Agreement: The contract that exists between the client and the makeup artist for the agreed fee.
The fee: The amount payable by the client to the makeup artist for the services chosen.
The event: Relates in principle to the date whereby the event (i.e., the wedding) takes place.
The party: Additional members of the bridal party.
- Securing the booking of the event:
The booking of the event is only reserved once the client has paid a deposit to the makeup artist. The booking fee is £50, which is required to secure the date of the event. Booking fees must be received within 7 days once the invoice is sent. Once paid, this can be refunded up to 7 days after the trial design appointment if the client does not wish to go ahead with the booking but no later. Refunds of the booking fee cannot be returned at any other point if the client wishes to cancel the booking out of the 7-day trial design appointment time frame.
Booking confirmations will only be sent once the booking fee have been sent and paid for. Once booking confirmation has been issued your date is secure.
After the booking fee has been paid, confirmed numbers may be increased at the makeup artist discretion (pending timings). If the numbers are reduced any more than 1 member of the party no longer receiving makeup, then the confirmed amount will still be charged.
Payment of the booking fee confirms that you agree to the full terms and conditions for the services provided by The Makeup Artist.
- Clients Responsibility:
Skin allergies and infections – it is the clients responsibly to inform the makeup artist of any known allergies or skin sensitivities and infections (especially those that are contagious), that they or their bridal party may have and / or may be affected using make-up tools or products, and if so, a consultation is highly recommended. The makeup artist will not work on any clients who have or are recovering from any infections / allergies.
The makeup artist cannot be held liable for any losses or damage that is incurred due to the client’s failure to inform the makeup artist of any known condition.
The makeup artist will not be held responsible for any reactions that may occur if any skin conditions were not stated before the application of make-up.
- Payments:
The price quoted by the makeup artist for each service at the time of confirming the booking is final. If the makeup artist price list changes at all, your booking will not be affected.
All booking fees are automatically deducted from the final balance, which is due no later than 28 days prior to the wedding day.
Method of payment for the wedding day service: Bank transfer.
Timeline of payment for the wedding day service: Final payments must be paid 28 days before the booking date, as explained in the invoice, and booking form.
When proceeding to secure a booking by paying a deposit, you accept that you are entering into a contract with the makeup artist and that you agree to all the terms and conditions listed by the makeup artist.
- Photography:
It is imperative that the makeup artist continues to update their portfolio for future prospective brides. Please let the makeup artist know in advance if you do not wish to be photographed or if you are not happy for the makeup artist to use your images for marketing purposes, websites, and social media pages.
Liability:
The makeup artist is not liable for any suppliers that they may recommend.
The makeup artist themselves are covered with Public Liability insurance up to £1000,000.
- Design appointments (trials):
Payments for the design appointments must be made prior to the trial or paid no later than when the client leaves the design appointment. The booking fee of £50 does not come off the design appointment fee but is deducted from the bridal makeup on the wedding day, as explained in the invoice and booking form.
Method of payment for the design appointment: Bank transfer / cash / card machine.
Please note that if you require a second design appointment you will be required to pay the full trial amount again and the design appointment is for one look only, with extra time added for additional tweaks / changes. If you require to try more than one look, then you are advised to book an additional trial / extra time to the trial with added fees.
If the client decides not to have a trial design appointment, then the makeup artist cannot accept responsibility if a chosen style or look is not seen as suitable. The makeup artist will put every effort in to ensure the client is happy but if there is a mismatch in styles, approach, or client expectations then a refund of the booking fee and wedding day final balance cannot be refunded. It is strongly advised for the client to book in a trial design appointment ahead of the wedding day booking.
Location where the trial design appointment takes place: Soft Glam by Rose, NN12 7SR.
- Cancellations:
By the client – At any point the client can cancel the event by informing the makeup artist. If the client cancels a wedding booking with 60 days’ notice, there will be no cancellation fees but please note, the booking fee is non-refundable. However, any less and the client will have to pay 50% of the agreed fee.
Should the client wish to cancel their booking at any stage, written notice must be given either to the makeup artists address and / or email. Cancellation will take effect from the date of receipt of the written cancellation, and you will receive written confirmation of your cancellation and any cancellation charges that may have been levied. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt therefore the client is advised to check that the cancellation has been received.
By the makeup artist – Cancellations by the makeup artist due to circumstances including, but not limited to, problems rendering their performance such as injury and severe illness, and where no other suitable alternative can be given – will result in a refund to the client of the booking fee only. If the booking is directly affected by circumstances such as the above, every possible endeavour to rectify such situations will be made (such as an attempt to find you a suitable replacement artist*), however no further compensation or refunds will be offered/given on the makeup artist part.
*Any further / additional costs by the replacement artist will not be covered by the original makeup artist.
In the event of any extreme weather conditions / act of God, the makeup artist has the right to cancel without refund.
The makeup artist does have the right to cancel the service at any point, if she feels at threat or is made to feel uncomfortable by any members of the party or client. In this case, the makeup artist will not refund any money to the client.
The client is strongly advised to take out wedding insurance to cover against such situations.
- Travel Expenses:
The makeup artist will travel for free within a 15mile radius of NN12 7SR, Grafton Regis.
A charge of 45p per mile will be added outside of this area including the return journey.
For any bookings within central London: For any bookings where the makeup artist is unable to drive to, then the full travel train ticket fee will be charged to the client. For any train stations that the makeup artist must drive to, will be covered by the makeup artist unless it is 15 miles out of the mileage zone. The client will cover any necessary travel expenses for the makeup artist as agreed at the time of the booking. This is to include, should it be required, mileage costs, congestion charging and parking charges (for any locations that the makeup artist can travel to without the use of trains).
Method of payment for the mileage costs: Bank transfer.
Timeline of payment for the mileage costs: Mileage fees will be added within the final payments, which must be paid 28 days before the booking date, as explained in the invoice, and booking form.
- Venue Change:
Quite often, venues will not allow us into the bridal suite early enough on the morning of the wedding. If we set up at one location and pack up to drive to the wedding venue to then set up again, then a fee of £15 will be added to the total wedding fee. A fee is added to cover time spent setting up / packing down / setting up again as this will incur an earlier start time overall as well as numerous cleaning and disinfecting workstations and products.
- Time Delays
The makeup artist will not be held responsible for any delays caused by events beyond their control.
No refund or compensation will be given in the event of delays caused by other wedding vendors, guests, or members of your party. If you suspect any member of your party may pose as a challenge in any way, they are encouraged to have a design appointment to avoid potential delays on the day.
Please ensure that every member of your party is aware of timings on the day and that they stay available.
Prior to having makeup applied, please ensure that you and your party avoid leaving the chair whilst the makeup artist is working.
- Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available to purchase by email or hard copy. They are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and are not transferrable between recipients (the E-gift vouchers will state the name of the giftee).
Gift vouchers are non-refundable.
Once a date has been selected for the gift voucher service, it can only be amended or moved once, and any bookings made for the gift voucher are to be made within the 12 months of the issue date and cannot be used outside of this timeframe.
Thank you,
Soft Glam by Rose
